Plan
Preparing for Your College Application Month Appointment
Choose Your Colleges
-
Narrow your college choices and focus on those that fit your criteria best.
-
Review the college websites and make plans to visit those you are seriously considering, if you haven't already.
Know College Deadlines
- Check all application deadlines.
Identify Application Fees
-
Many colleges require an application fee when you submit an online application.
-
You may need to enter a credit/debit card number on the application or mail a check after submission.
-
If you are eligible for the SAT fee waiver, you are likely eligible for an application fee waiver – contact your school counselor for fee waivers or if you are unsure.
Complete an Application Worksheet
-
You'll have an easier time completing your applications if you complete the appropriate worksheet ahead of time.
Complete Your Essay, Resume and Personal Statement
-
Prepare ahead of time.
-
Details about the requirements are found on the college admissions webpages.
-
Upload to a flash drive and bring it to your College Application Month event.
